Meet the team
Peter Claesson Project Manager He has over 15 years of experience in developing youth oriented programs. In 1997, he worked with UN consultancies in the InterAmerican Development Bank and the EU on motivational projects in Ecuador, Honduras, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. He has partnered on numerous sustainable development projects. Peter became the recipient of the prestigious UN Development Program Administrators Award for Innovation and Commitment in 2004 and 2006. He is the co-founder of Indigo Travel & Events and shares his passion for nature in his free time.
Doris Downes Co-Founder, Editorial Director She has worked with UN affiliates, the African Conservation Foundation and the Environmental Governance Institute in Cameroon as an author and blogger on global environmental issues including mining, deforestation and poaching. She has lectured on the ‘History of Biodiversity’ at the 2013 Scientific Conference at the Jardin Botanico del Soroa in Cuba and as a guest artist at Finca Dracula in Cerra Punta, Panama where she continued her research of orchids and worked with local youth on art projects. With a lifelong interest in natural history she is working an illustrated volume of the Orchids of Cuba.
Charles Gooley Webmaster Charles is a retired Aerospace engineer and now does pro-bono web development for a number of non profits. He has a Certificate of Achievement from a Pierce College and has taken numerous courses in web technologies from ULCA Extension. He is proficient in web development including HTML5, CSS3, Wordpress, PHP and MySQL.
Shruti Chandrasekhar Director of Marketing As an active United Nations Volunteer, Shruti has supported several projects for The United Nations Refugee Agency, Save the Children, World Wildlife Fund, Our City Forest, and has worked for several non-profits in her community that are primarily focused on environment protection and reforestation. Upon completion of her MBA from University of Maryland - College Park, Shruti worked as a Marketing Manager for a telecom startup & as a Product Manager for Cypress Semiconductors. As an independent marketing consultant & content marketer, she now creates & implements digital marketing strategies for hi-tech startups and non-profit organizations in the Silicon Valley. With a strong tech background and a passion for environmental issues, Shruti is committed to helping non-profits achieve success and realize their mission of making a global impact.

Miguel Segur Sustainability Expert Sustainabilty Expert in the study of forest projects, biodiversity and climate change and has created a project called Model Forest http://www.bosquesmodelo.net , now implemented in various countries around the world. He is currently with the Foundacion Cesefor, a foundation that contributes to the conservation of natural resources. Miguel has worked as the Galapagos Program Officer for the protection of endangered species and on forest management projects in South America. He has also a co-authored many papers on the subject of forest governance in diverse areas of the globe.
Camilla Hall An international businesswoman and entrepreneur Special Advisor to Dr Ashok Khosla, President and Founder of Development Alternatives, President IUCN. Head of Club Terra Viva with a vision to transform the world in a meaningful way. She is the advisor to Carl Gustaf Lundin - IUCN - Head of Marine Programme www.iucn.org. and an advisor to Women & Water for IWA - International Water Association www.iwahq.org
Sean Southey Chief Executive Officer at PCI Media Impact He is deeply committed to community empowerment and effective use of storytelling, media and entertainment to empower and mobilize social change. Sean was also Vice President for Rare.org, a U.S.-based conservation organization that works globally to equip people in the world’s most threatened natural areas with the tools and motivation they need to care for their natural resources. Before this he was the Manager for the Equator Initiative which is a partnership that brings together the United Nations, civil society, business, governments and communities to help build the capacity and raise the profile of grassroots efforts to reduce poverty through the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. www.RARE.org www.mediaimpact.org
